Memorial Day

I'm at home, sick with a stuffy head and sore throat, while my family is out enjoying the holiday weekend and summer weather. Isn't that great?! Having confidence in normal, ordinary days is great, and  I'm feeling grateful for peaceful times. I realize not everyone in the world has peaceful days like I take for granted. And, I realize that for some families, this day is truly a day to remember loved ones who fought for us. My heart goes out to anyone missing a family member today.

  1. Sorry to hear you don't feel good. I'm like you. My heart goes out to anyone missing a family member.
My husband started a tradition last year. He takes the girls and a friend to a park nearby to see the graves of the soldiers.
We talked about this to the girls, many are loosing this true meaning of holidays such as this, Independence day, and even Thanksgiving.
    Hope you feel better soon.
    Hugs from Texas

  2. That's a great tradition your husband started, Silvia. I agree that many people - including me at times - neglect to think about the original meaning of holidays.
