CLX Steps

My kids have lived quite happily without knowing Roman numerals, or so I thought. Last week I came up with the idea to take a break from our math routine and cover Roman numerals.

It turns out they already figured out how Roman numerals work on their own. Once again, I'm a few steps behind them.

Later that day we happened upon this plaque in a park in the Bronx:

The funny thing is, when I looked online about the 160 Steps plaque, I learned that there are really 158 steps in the staircase.

Either way, I climbed them all and I can tell you that whatever the number is, it's a big hill to climb. And, as usual, I was a few steps behind my kids who bounded up the stairs and managed to find a tiny salamander on the way.
